Ph.D. in Journalism and Communication
Dr . Qian Wang got her Ph.D from Purdue University, U.S. and Bachelor from Tsinghua University. She is the Director of New Media International Program, School of Media and Communication; Director of Health Communication Research Center, Special Research Expert of Center for Health and Medical Communication. Her research interests include health communication, cross-cultural communication, social media and new media study.
She has published series of books including Doctor-Patient Communication and Patient Satisfaction: A Cross-Cultural Comparative Study between China and the U.S; Tobacco Control Theory and Practice from the Health Communication Perspective, etc. She also published manuscripts in the Handbook of Crisis Communication(Wiley-Blackwell). She has published in Asian Journal of Communication, Modern Communication, etc. Her paper got Top Paper Award at ICA conference. She got honors including Shanghai Pujiang Talent, Shanghai Chenguang Talent, Morning Star Talent, University Teaching Awards etc. She got several different research grants from different Funds nationally and internationally. Dr. Wang teaches undergraduate and gradate courses including Social Research Methods, Marketing Theory and Practice, Academic English, and Intercultural Communication.
